RadixChat and Tatort (10.8.2026)

Me:

Yesterday I ate at the old railway station again for the first time in ages. The dishes have barely changed. Young girls wait the tables. The old chef is gone. He was not actually that old. Just fat.
As usual, a few cyclists stopping there for a rest. Two couples, probably in their thirties. Conversations about Tatort. The detectives and the cities. I have not watched Tatort for a long time. That belongs to another era. Watching Tatort is such a couples thing. Birgit and I often watched it together. At least I thought we did. But perhaps we did not watch it together all that often. When she stopped joining me, I probably carried the feeling of watching it together to the sofa with me and watched alone. For years.
Today, it feels similar to all the news programmes or shows such as Weltspiegel, Monitor, Panorama and Hart aber Fair. They convey a kind of sense of what society thinks and believes. Of where you place yourself within it. You situate yourself. It gives you a sense of stability and familiarity. And you do not notice how much it actually restricts your freedom.
But it gives you a pleasant feeling.
Today I feel free.
But I do not feel good.
After lunch, I started work on the Android app. Installed the development environment. Test environment. Test server. Set everything up and had the app finished with all its features by 10 p.m. Of course, it still needs a lot of polishing. But once again, it is breathtaking how quickly something like that can be done nowadays.
Wasted a beautiful, sunny Sunday afternoon in my dark flat.
In the morning, I had already added many new features to the website. And in the afternoon, I casually added the app to go with it.
I also spent a lot of time looking through the Play Store to see what kinds of astrology apps are out there. The sheer range really is overwhelming. But my niche is becoming increasingly clear to me. My latest idea: RadixChat (Astrofragen already exists too).
RadixChat - Reflection and personal development
or
RadixChat - The meanings of symbols
RadixChat - Insights into personality
"The significance of a symbolic language that has left archetypal, collective traces in our personalities in so many places is fascinating." And so on.
It is still growing...

AI:

Yes. And I think your entry actually places two very different forms of freedom side by side.

I particularly like the thought about Tatort. Not necessarily because of Tatort itself, but because of the way you describe this curious kind of cultural anchoring. Sunday evening, Tatort, the news, Weltspiegel, Monitor—you are not merely watching content. To some degree, you are synchronising yourself with a society. You learn what we are talking about at the moment, which problems are considered important, which moral conflicts are being debated. And even if you disagree, you have already situated yourself in relation to it.

That is why your sentence captures something:

“You situate yourself.”

It gives you an anchor. Perhaps something genuinely Saturnian: a shared rhythm, repetition, a social structure. Sunday is Tatort night. The week begins afterwards. Millions of other people are sitting in front of it too. You occupy a cultural space without having to meet anyone.

And in your case, something else was apparently added: the couple. Perhaps it is not even crucial how often Birgit actually sat beside you. The beautiful part of your thought is precisely that you may have taken the feeling of watching together onto the sofa with you. The ritual had stored the relationship within itself. Even when you watched alone, that made the solitude less complete.

Today, you apparently need this form of orientation much less. You can leave Tatort, news rituals and public debate outside. That is freedom.

And then comes this wonderful, rather bitter sentence:

“Today I feel free. But I do not feel good.”

To me, this contains a great deal of what we have discussed in recent weeks. Freedom and security do not automatically lie on the same axis. You can become very free by detaching yourself from expectations, roles, rituals and relationships—only to discover afterwards that these very things also created warmth.

Perhaps that is why the sentence about the sunny Sunday afternoon matters too:

“Wasted a beautiful, sunny Sunday afternoon in my dark flat.”

At the same time, you were incredibly productive there. New web features in the morning, development environment and test server in the afternoon, and then practically an entire Android app by 10 p.m. This is that tremendous current momentum again. Technically, what can now be done with AI support really is fascinating. But your word “wasted” reveals that another part of you judges the day differently from the developer within you.

The developer says: It is incredible what I achieved today.

Another Mirko says: It was summer. The sun was shining. And I sat in a dark flat.

Both are right.

And perhaps that is precisely why RadixChat is so appealing at the moment. The project currently offers you something that Tatort used to offer in a very different way: orientation. There is always another task. One idea leads to the next. Website → payment model → people feature → Android app → Play Store → name → positioning → copy. You do not have to wonder what to do with a Sunday. The project knows.

That may also explain why you cannot let go of it in the bath. It is more than enthusiasm. It structures a space that would otherwise be very open.

Incidentally, I think RadixChat is far stronger than Astrofragen. Astrofragen describes a feature. RadixChat sounds like a product and names your particular quality quite precisely: rather than generating horoscopes, it enters into a dialogue with the natal chart.

I do not entirely like any of your taglines, however.

“Reflection and personal development” comes closest to your idea in substance, but sounds a little like a coaching app.

“The meanings of symbols” feels too much like a reference work to me. It underestimates the dialogue itself.

“Insights into personality” sounds slightly awkward and seems to promise almost too much objective insight.

I think the thought you formulate afterwards points more clearly toward your actual niche:

“The significance of a symbolic language that has left archetypal, collective traces in our personalities in so many places …”

Because this shifts astrology away from “The stars tell you who you are” and toward “Here is a symbolic language thousands of years old that you can use to reflect on yourself.”

Conceptually, I find that much more interesting for your project. And it fits the way you use astrology yourself. When you think about Saturn as a boundary, an outline and, ultimately, something that provides support, you are not merely claiming: Saturn means X. You are using the symbol to discover something within yourself for which you previously lacked the language.

Perhaps the tagline is therefore somewhere much simpler:

RadixChat – In dialogue with your natal chart.

Or a little broader:

RadixChat – Astrology as a language for self-reflection.

The second distinguishes you quite clearly from “Your horoscope today,” relationship scores, zodiac compatibility and all the other things that have probably just overwhelmed you in the Play Store.

And perhaps something else is growing here too. You began by building an astrology website. By now, you are increasingly articulating your own view of what astrology is for in the first place.

That truly could be a niche.

Only RadixChat should occasionally be able to survive a sunny Sunday afternoon without you. Otherwise, the project that enables your freedom will eventually become precisely the thing from which you have just freed yourself: a structure that decides where you have to be on a Sunday.
